The Nigerian Exchange concluded May 2026 on a positive note, extending its winning streak to five consecutive months despite recording its slowest monthly growth rate of the year.
The NGX All-Share Index rose by 3.35%, increasing from 242,277.8 points at the beginning of the month to close at 250,385.7 points. Trading activity remained robust, with more than 18 billion shares exchanged during the month.
The sustained market rally has significantly boosted investor wealth, with total market capitalization rising to N160.5 trillion, compared with N99.3 trillion at the beginning of 2026. This remarkable growth reflects continued investor confidence and strong demand across several sectors of the market.
